Neighbour Connections operates Monday to Friday 9AM to 4.30PM

We  provide  a range of flexible social support services to people who are frail aged or have disabilities, together with their carers’ in order to reduce social isolation and support people to live independently in the community.

Social Support

Social support services can be one to one regular fortnightly outings to help with a wide range of needs such as getting to the bank, pay bills, have a walk, and share a coffee.  It is important to be able to connect with the community and maintain independence and our volunteers and staff are always very helpful and supportive.

Outings & activities

We have a range of bus outings which include monthly outings to a club or BBQ, weekly club lunches.  For smaller groups we have outings for 2-3 people to places of interest like museums, art exhibits, Ikea visits, Bunnings hardware visits, Nursery visits, beach walks and cafes.  Each month we also have a Birthday lunch for all clients with birthdays in that month.  We also have knitting group that meets each month.

Home Visits

Volunteers and support workers can make regular home visits to our clients who are isolated and provide a friendly and supportive check.  Sharing time together and keeping connection to the community can be mutually enjoyable.  It is reassuring to know you there is someone looking out for you.

Phone Service

The Telephone Support Service makes a regular fortnightly call to eligible clients during normal work hours.  The goal of the service is to break down isolation and support people to remain in their own home for as long as possible.  The Telephone Support Service complements a range of assistance that may be received from family, friends and/or health and community services.

We can provide information on other services and make referrals on your behalf.  We also provide advocacy to speak or write on your behalf to government departments.
