Neighbour Connections is a non-profit organisation providing social support and activities to many residents within our vibrant eclectic community.

We welcome volunteers to become involved with our many different activities. Click here to read our volunteer Bruce’s story.

Volunteer roles

  • HOME VISITORS

    Help people in their own home with a social visit sharing a cuppa and a chat, help with reading mail, small errands at the local shops

  • MEDICAL ESCORTING

    Assist clients by escorting them to medical appointments

  • BUS & CAR DRIVERS

    Drive a community 18 seater bus to take people on outings or provide car transport to people to local shops and appointments

  • BUS ASSISTANTS

    Assist people on our community bus outings to get on and off safely, and enjoy their day out.

  • ACTIVITY ASSISTANTS

    Assist with our activities to ensure everyone has a safe enjoyable time.

  • FRIENDLY PHONE CALLERS

    Make a friendly phone call to our clients who are isolated on a regular fortnightly basis.

  • OFFICE SUPPORT

    Help with office tasks, such as newsletters, mail outs, answering phones.

  • BOARD MEMBERS

    The board meets bi-monthly to manage the service. Training and supervision are provided to all Volunteer as well as the opportunity to get together with other volunteers at our social functions.

Get involved

We welcome volunteers from all cultural backgrounds and ages ranging from 18 to 80. Contact us via email or phone (02 8241 8050) and arrange an interview with the Volunteer Coordinator.  During this interview we will discuss your availability, interests, skills and suitable volunteer positions available.

Free training and supervision is provided regularly to all volunteers, as well as the opportunity to get together with other volunteers at social functions.
