We provide a range of flexible social support services to people who are frail aged or have disabilities, together with their carers’ in order to reduce social isolation and support people to live independently in the community.
Social support services can be one to one regular fortnightly outings to help with a wide range of needs such as getting to the bank, pay bills, have a walk, and share a coffee. It is important to be able to connect with the community and maintain independence and our volunteers and staff are always very helpful and supportive.
We offer bus outings and car transport to assist clients in participating community excursions, reaching the local shops and making medical appointments.
We organise home visitors to share a ‘cuppa’ and a chat, help with reading mail and small errands to the local shops.
We organise regular friendly calls providing friendship and support for our elderly and housebound clients.
Neighbour Connections can provide clients with referrals and advocacy. We also actively work in partnership with other agencies to achieve better service outcomes.
“Sit-to-Fit” gentle exercise classes suitable for those with arthritis, osteoporosis and joint replacement, conducted by a fitness instructor experienced with older persons.
